MOVE ON was an arts project that involved several communities to create a long, chain- reaction like contraptions. Several groups, one of them being students of Dimboola Primary School, built elements of this big, installation like mechanism. They were supported and guided by an experienced group of professional makers and artists to set free their imagination about which exciting part of the unique thingamabob they could build. Many wonderful cause and effect inventions were created, some with as many as nine steps. Water, gravity, chemical reactions, fire (a match), momentum, balancing points and disintegrating cardboard were just some of the elements utilised to activate movement.
The results of all the wild building and tinkering will be joined into one big chain- reaction and assembled and activated during the Art is… Festival in June in a big outdoor space in Horsham on June 10th and 11th.
